IELTS Essay: The Role of Former Prisoners - Vocab And Intro

Some people who have been in prison become good citizens later, and it is often argued that these are the best people to talk to teenagers about the dangers of committing a crime.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?  ( 2015 July question)

Vocabulary

Former prisoners
Ex-offenders
Ex-prisoners
Imprisonment
Incarceration
Criminals who repent
Deter them from crimes
Consequences/ outcome/after effects
Take to crimes

Let's try writing a 'strong opinion' answer for this question.
We're not going to write about both points of view.

Intro:

There is a growing concern among parents, educators and policy makers about teenagers turning to crimes at a young age or later due to the influence of various factors that are part of our day-to-day life. They advocate countless viable solutions to address this issue and one of them is to use reformed ex-prisoners to educate youngsters  about the negative consequences of committing a criminal offence. I believe it is the most effective way  to keep young people  away from  crime.
